Wanted: Peer Support Workers

Welcome to Victory Tips! It is our mission to help you find freedom and happiness through biblical truth and the help of peer support workers.

It is our goal to raise up an army of skilled peer support workers who can immediately befriend and inspire people who are struggling in their journey to peace and happiness. All of our peer support workers are self-employed. Should a relationship of a peer to peer support worker develop to the point of paying services, you would deal directly with the peer support worker. Should you require more peer support than is provided by the Victory Tips Free Peer Support program, we can help you find someone to fill that need.

What does a peer support worker do?

1) They listen closely to what the peer is telling them.

2) They occasionally share parts of their own story to inspire their peer.

3) They help the peer discover all the options that the peer has as they chart their journey toward happiness.

4) They continually learn about all the recovery programs available so they can give an thorough overview of each program.

5) They continually explore all of the community resources that help people who are in recovery. They know where the resources are and are able to share a little information about how they operate.

6) Some peer support workers are less engaged in the above duties and prefer to simply help people with the practical aspects of daily living such as house-cleaning, shopping, child care, etc.

7) Occasionally, people come to us for help to break free from a serious addiction or a problem with intense fear. In these cases, peers would become part of team of peer support workers who provide round-the-clock care.

We encourage each of our peer support workers to pursue training with an accredited peer support training provider so they can hone their skills and offer high quality, professional peer support. To discover training programs in your area, Google ‘peer support training’ and ‘the name of the city you live in’.
